November 1, 2024
A new major release of CalcKit is here!
What's new?
We're thrilled to announce the release of CalcKit: All-In-One Calculator version 7.0.0, our most extensive update to date! This release includes exciting new features, improvements to existing tools, and an enhanced user experience on both our Android and Web Apps. Here are some of the highlights you can look forward to:
Android App Updates
- New Number Format Option: We've added the Indian number format (e.g., 12,34,56.789) to our calculators, catering to our users in India.
- Improved Custom Tools Experience: For users creating Custom Tools, CalcKit now remembers the last selected unit for each variable. Previously, variables with multiple units (e.g., meter/centimeter) would default to the first unit when reopening a tool. Now, CalcKit recalls your last unit choice, making custom tool usage smoother and more convenient.
- Expanded Analytic Geometry, Reactance & Equations Calculators: We've split the Analytical Geometry, Reactance, and Equations calculators into dedicated sub-categories, offering specific calculators for each. You can now easily find and use tools for Capacitive Reactance, Inductive Reactance, Resonant Frequency, and the various Analytic Geometry calculations. Additionally, the Equations calculator has been split into individual calculators for Linear, Quadratic, and Cubic equations, along with 2x2 and 3x3 Systems of Equations, making complex equation-solving more accessible.
- Educational Articles & Constants: Alongside the above-mentioned calculators, we've added several new educational articles to guide you through each concept. We've also introduced the golden ratio (phi) and tau (2*pi) constants to the Custom Tools, adding more mathematical versatility.
- Community Library Revamp: Android users can now access our redesigned Community Library directly from the app, which is now free for all users! Explore calculators created by others and even publish your own calculators for everyone to use.
- Improved Documentation: We've enhanced CalcKit's documentation with more FAQs, short tutorial videos, and detailed guides to help users navigate the app's features with ease. We'll continue adding resources to make the CalcKit experience even better.
- Bug Fixes & Other Improvements: We've made some essential adjustments, including fixing a rare crash during percentage calculations, ensuring trigonometric functions always respect user settings, and more.
Web App Updates
- Sign-in with Google: You can now easily access CalcKit using your Google account, making it simpler to explore all the features CalcKit has to offer.
- Educational Articles & New Calculators: Just like on Android, we've added calculators for Reactance and Analytical Geometry, along with articles to help guide you through each concept.
- Community Library: We've released our Web Community Library that lets you publish, upvote, or report calculators created by others. Sorting options such as "Top Rated", "Popular", and "New" make it easy to find what's trending or discover the latest calculators.
- AI Calculator Builder: We've released our new AI Calculator Builder which enables you to create personalized calculators quickly. Just describe what you need, and CalcKit's AI will generate a custom calculator tailored to your specifications!
- Improved User Interface: Navigation is now smoother, search results are more targeted, and clearer messages encourage users to explore CalcKit's powerful calculator-building features.
- Developer Tools: We've also launched devtools.calckit.io, offering a suite of developer tools including a Color Converter, Markdown Editor, and Programmer Calculator.
- Enhanced Performance & Security: We've optimized CalcKit's backend, improving loading speeds, reducing response times, and reinforcing data security for a smoother, safer experience.
